One of the best ways to get your office clean and ready for spring is to encourage your employees to do some organizing:

1. Throw Out Old Papers

Even in the digital era, we still find ourselves with piles and piles of papers on our desks, in drawers and in filing cabinets. Encourage your employees to sort through papers that have accumulated over the past year (or more) and throw away anything they don’t need. Anything that does need to be kept can go into a filing system with file folders for easy future reference.

2. Eliminate Distractions & Clutter

One of the easiest ways to get a messy desk or office environment is for distractions and clutter to build up. Employees often place personal touches on their desks to make themselves feel inspired. While a few pieces here and there is great, we recommend that you encourage your employees to keep decorative and personal items to a minimum and keep their desks clear of any distractions.

Your physical office isn’t the only place that needs organizing. Spring is also a great time to do some digital organizing. Delete old files that you don’t need and make sure everything you do need is organized and easily accessible. Free up space on your computer’s hard drive by moving to a cloud storage system, where all of your employees can access documents when they need them.
